Welcome all to our 2025 National Championships in Surrey, British Columbia
We thank Co-Chairs Joan Ritchie and Jo-Anne Borgford, the British Columbia Host committee, and all volunteers for their hard work in organizing our Championship. We all appreciate your time and effort leading up to our Championship and during the Championship. Thank you to the proprietors at Galaxy Lanes, Scottsdale, Poco and Grandview Lanes for hosting us.
The Province of British Columbia has produced many outstanding keglers over the years. Doug Mosdell, Dick Borgenstrom, Joe Kranabetter, Laurie Stefurak, Louise Paulhus, Wayne Davies, Larry Johnson, Kim Chadwick to name a few. Let’s not forget perhaps the greatest of his time or perhaps ever, Frank Lavigne. Frank averaged 285.5 at Commodore Lanes and an incredible 329.84 in 1975-76 at Grandview Lanes. During this record setting season, Frank had 3 perfect games, 4 game totals of 1604, 1529 and 1528. He had 18 - 400 games and 74 - 300 games. All this without the new bases and regular spacing of the pins! So imagine how he did that if you are struggling at Grandview. If you have time, visit Commodore Lanes, the oldest lanes in Canada. I know I am going to try to get there.
We wish you the best of luck with your bowling. More importantly, take the time to make new friends, rekindle old acquaintances and enjoy your time here.
